Halloween is extremely fun however if you don't have the right costume, it can be a real nightmare. Costume prices can range from $20 - $100 and the closer you get to Halloween, the more expensive they get. So if you haven't started early, then you might want to think about a cheaper alternative and perhaps make your own costume.

If you are brave enough or creative enough, you could make one of the best costumes at the party. One of the benefits to making your own costume is that you can also choose how much you want to spend on the costume. You could just use things you find in the house or you could order special items to make it that much better. In this article, I will provide you with a couple of ideas on how you can make your own costume for cheap.

If you or your spouse has a one-piece mechanic suite, you can be a mechanic. Put a little grease on it, and carry a dirty rag in your pocket and you will look like a real mechanic. If you have a hockey mask, you can be Jason. Throw some fake blood on it and you are now a mass murder. If you have a machete, it might be a nice touch as long as you don't have any kids or are not drinking.

Maybe you have a military uniform or some hunting gear laying around at home. If you do, then you are almost have everything you need in making an army costume. If you don't have these types of things laying around at home, then no worries. Just head over to your nearest army surplus store and buy some items.

If you have a white shirt and a set of white pants or skirt, you can then put some more things on it to create a sailor's outfit. If you add anchors and a sailors hat to your costume, then you can be a very cute sailor with minimal work.

Our personal favorite is the sailor costume and the army costume. These costumes are very cute but also very easy to make. With the army costume, you can use face paint and create a really nice looking, tough look. You can also use a toy gun with each and be loaded.

If you have a hockey jersey, you can put it on and instead of a helmet or stick, all you need is some streamers to put in your hair. No guy will challenge your decision because just about all men find women in sports jerseys to be sexy.

So if you want to save money this year for Halloween, then you better buy your costume early or make your own. You might be surprised to see what you can find around the house or if you go online, you can probably find some cheap accessories that will really make you outfit or costume stick out.
