Allow the cloth to be in that position until you already see that it is soaking. You may leave it for half an hour but be able to come back as soon as that time is up. You would still have to put the rug on the ground and scrub it thoroughly.

If you are able to find some straps on the material, then you will have to make an effort in getting all of them. After that, they would need to be contained in a wash bag. This will help maintain the condition of your washing machine. If a few straps do not have a remove feature in them, then you will just have to cover them with socks to provide a remedy to the solution.

When it comes to the standards that you have to set on your machine, you would just have to follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the rug regarding that matter. Thus, do not lose the manual from the package of the material. Moreover, feel free to add some disinfectant on the machine so that you can be assured of the cleanliness of the item.

Once the machine has already finished its cycle, then take the rug to the fence again. You would have to dry it there this time. Provide it with additional air as well.

Lastly, make sure that the material is already completely dry. If it still feels a little damp when you touch it, then do not take it in yet. It should have no moisture before you store it.
